Website & project agreements
These terms explain use of BLKAPP Creative Web Studio’s public website, inquiry forms, and hosted concept review pages. BLKAPP is a Los Angeles–based website design and development studio. When you use this website, please follow the acceptable-use rules below. If you disagree with those rules, stop using the website.
An inquiry, a conversation, or a concept review does not by itself create a paid project, employment relationship, or obligation to start work. Services begin under a separate written agreement. If that agreement conflicts with this page on a project-specific matter, the written project agreement controls.
Proposals, scope & estimates
A proposal should identify deliverables, included pages and features, responsibilities, review stages, pricing, and expected timing. References and examples help communicate a direction; they are not a promise that every illustrated feature is included.
Additional pages, integrations, content creation, revisions outside the agreed scope, or changes to an approved direction may require an updated quote and schedule. We will discuss those changes before treating them as additional paid work.
Billing & payment
Project fees, deposits, payment milestones, due dates, taxes where applicable, and any ongoing charges must be set out in your proposal or invoice. Requesting information through the website does not authorize a charge. Do not send card numbers or bank account credentials through an inquiry form.
When a payment processor is offered, payment details are entered through its payment interface and are subject to that provider’s applicable terms. Recurring services must be agreed separately. This page does not authorize automatic billing or introduce a subscription.
Timing, feedback & approvals
Project timing depends on the agreed scope, access to required systems, timely content, and consolidated feedback. Review dates and launch targets should be confirmed in writing. Delayed materials, new requirements, and outside-provider issues can affect the schedule.
Clients are responsible for reviewing names, contact details, service descriptions, pricing, legal notices, and other supplied business information before approving publication. Tell us promptly if you identify an error or need to change a prior approval.
Your content & responsibilities
Only provide text, images, trademarks, video, and other materials you are authorized to share and use. Identify any licenses, attribution requirements, consent restrictions, or expiration dates that affect those materials. Keep originals and backups of important business assets.
For regulated or professional content, your qualified reviewer must approve the relevant statements and claims. Public project forms are not patient intake systems. Do not submit patient records, passwords, identity documents, financial credentials, or other sensitive information through these forms.
Ownership & licenses
BLKAPP’s original portfolio content, creative materials, and other protected work remain subject to the rights of their respective owners. Viewing this website or receiving a preview link does not transfer ownership or grant permission to reuse protected content.
For commissioned work, ownership, licenses, source-code delivery, reusable components, and any conditions for transfer must be specified in the written project agreement. Third-party fonts, stock assets, software, plugins, and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses. Payment alone should not be assumed to resolve every licensing or handover question.
Concept previews & review links
Concepts are preliminary creative directions, not completed websites. They can contain illustrative text, placeholder assets, or features shown only to explain an idea. A concept’s scope and production requirements must be confirmed before a full build.
Hosted review links are unlisted, but they are not password-protected merely because they are excluded from search indexing. Anyone with a link may be able to view it. Share links only with intended reviewers. The studio may revise or withdraw previews as a project develops.
AI-assisted materials
Where AI tools are used in a project, generated text, imagery, or code must be reviewed before publication. AI output can contain errors, invented details, or material that needs further rights review. It should not be relied on as professional advice or as verification of a factual claim.
The agreed project scope should explain any relevant AI-assisted deliverables and the approval process. Do not place confidential third-party information or sensitive personal data into an AI workflow without appropriate authorization and arrangements.
Hosting, domains & ongoing support
Domain registration, hosting, email, third-party accounts, maintenance, backups, and support are separate responsibilities unless expressly included in a written agreement. The agreement should identify account ownership, renewal costs, access permissions, and handover arrangements.
An initial website build does not automatically include indefinite updates, uptime guarantees, support for future platform changes, or ongoing security monitoring. Any service levels and maintenance commitments must be agreed in writing.
Pauses, cancellation & refunds
If you need to pause or cancel a project, contact the studio promptly so we can review work completed, outstanding commitments, and any handover needs. Cancellation rights, treatment of deposits, unused fees, and refunds are governed by the written project agreement and applicable law.
This website does not impose a blanket non-refundable policy or a cancellation penalty. Any such project-specific conditions must be disclosed and agreed before payment. Changes to a recurring service should follow the cancellation process provided with that service.
Acceptable use & account access
Use the website for legitimate inquiries, reviewing work, and accessing tools you are authorized to use. Do not attempt to bypass sign-in, access another person’s records, upload malicious code, disrupt the service, impersonate someone, or submit unlawful or infringing material.
Private studio accounts are restricted to authorized users. Protect your sign-in credentials and notify the studio if you suspect unauthorized access to a review link or account. Access may be restricted to investigate misuse or protect the service.
Privacy & confidentiality
Inquiry information is used to review and respond to your request. Our Privacy notice describes the current inquiry and concept-review workflow. Use the contact form if you need to request a correction or ask about submitted information.
A public form or unlisted concept link does not itself create a confidentiality agreement. Agree on the appropriate process before sharing confidential business assets. A separate written agreement can address project confidentiality, permitted disclosures, and secure delivery.
External sites & portfolio references
Third-party websites, names, trademarks, and materials belong to their respective owners. External links have their own content, terms, and privacy practices. BLKAPP does not control them and a link does not guarantee their availability or accuracy.
The portfolio distinguishes completed work, illustrative studies, and independent references. A reference showcase does not by itself imply a client relationship, sponsorship, or endorsement.
Availability & results
Public website content may change and access may occasionally be interrupted. General descriptions and concept examples are provided for information and discussion. The deliverables and performance commitments for a paid project belong in its written agreement.
Search rankings, traffic, leads, sales, platform acceptance, and other outcomes depend on factors beyond design and development. They are not guaranteed by this website. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Questions, concerns & updates
If you have a question, concern, or accessibility difficulty, contact BLKAPP through the inquiry form or the mailing address below. Identify the relevant page or project and describe what happened so we can review it.
We may update these website terms by publishing a revised version with an updated date. A website revision does not by itself amend an existing signed project agreement. If a provision cannot be applied, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Let’s clear it up.
